Swiftlets build their nests high on the rocky ledges, and daring workers climb fragile bamboo scaffolding to collect them, a dangerous tradition tied to the prized Chinese delicacy of bird’s nest soup.
We continue into the stunning Pileh Lagoon, where sheer cliffs surround a natural pool of dazzlingly clear, shallow water. The soft white sand beneath your feet makes this an idyllic spot to swim or snorkel.
Our journey then brings us to the legendary Maya Bay, world-famous as the setting for the film The Beach. With its white sand, jungle backdrop, and dramatic limestone cliffs, it’s one of the most photographed places in Thailand.
