Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Railway Market
Bangkok
Take in the local sights and sounds at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Experienced long-tail boats , appreciate the winding waterways and get a brief glimpse of those who live on the river. Then see vendors scramble as the train rushes by the Maeklong Railway Market.
Maeklong Railway Market, which roughly means ‘umbrella pulldown market’, it is famous for the vendors’ mad scramble to pack up when a train goes by. We’ll explore and hopefully see the train pass before making our way to our next stop the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. One of the more famous floating markets in the city, it is made up of a network of narrow canals dotted with vendors paddling their boats filled with their wares.
Visit Wat Bang Kung – Temple hidden within the roots of a banyan tree.
This temple is probably the most iconic in Amphawa District, known for its roots and branches of banyan tree which over the centuries have surrounded and locked the building, it houses a golden Buddha.

Great value for the money
Great experience! Our guide, Wan, made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. Along the way she provided insight into the history of the markets, local foods/customs, and the Buddhist religion. We visited the train and floating markets and made a bonus stop at an old 13th century Buddhist temple which was quite interesting! Wan clearly knew the ins and outs of the markets and gave great recommendations about where to get the best boat noodles and sticky rice! The transportation was timely and comfortable (although they do not pick up from the Sukumvit neighborhood) and they provided free water.
Before booking the tour my group of four priced out the cost of a taxi and arranging our own boat through the markets–the tour probably cost us around $15 more per person. I think the added value of a knowledgeable guide, more comfortable transportation, and not having the added stress of haggling with taxis and boat drivers was absolutely worth it, and I would readily recommend this to friends and family!

Crazy tour, perfectly Organized
It was a wonderful experience! I was picked up at my hostel perfectly on time in the morning. The guide always made sure everybody was safe at the railway and the floating market. There was plenty of free time to go and look around, to eat and take photos. Both markets were really nice and crazy, the tour is absolutely worth it! The guide was motivated and enthusiastic and it was a very fun tour in general. 10/10 would recommend 🙂 thanks

Thank you for amazing trip! ❤️
It was wonderful excursion!
Our guide – Nicky was very positive and polite. She told us about culture, show a local lifestyle. It’s very unusual for European people, but you must to see that!
Our trip was comfortable from the beginning till the end. 🙏
