Visit Wat Pha Lat, small trekking thru forest to the temple. Then visit famous Doi Suthep Temple, the Buddhist temple draped in gold. Enjoy the panoramic view from top of the mountain over the city

1. Wat Pha Lat
Take a songthaew to the starting point of the Monk’s Trail, then begin a scenic walk through the lush forest on the slopes of Doi Suthep. Follow this historic trail, once used by Buddhist monks traveling between the city and the temples, to Wat Pha Lat, a peaceful jungle temple surrounded by nature.
Explore the temple grounds and admire the old stone structures, Buddha statues, intricate carvings, and moss-covered stairways. Take a moment to relax by the small stream and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings before continuing to the next stop of the tour.
2. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of the most sacred Buddhist temples and pilgrimage sites in Thailand. The temple can be reached via the famous “Dragon Staircase,” which features more than 300 steps flanked by Naga serpent sculptures. Alternatively, you can take the cable car to the temple (at an additional cost).
Once at the temple grounds, explore the beautiful complex and admire its statues, pagodas, shrines, bells, and Buddhist murals. Visit the temple’s sacred golden chedi and learn about its history, as well as the stories depicted in the murals illustrating the life of the Buddha.
Located 1,053 meters above sea level, the temple offers spectacular views over Chiang Mai and the Ping Valley. On a clear day, take in the breathtaking scenery before returning to your hotel.

Lovely! Emmy is amazing.
Emmy was such a sweet and informative guide! Added so much value to seeing the temples we did as opposed to going solo. Definitely requires you to be mobile as there’s a decent amount of uphill walking but if you’re in good shape you’ll be just fine.

Recommendable tour
Very friendly guide who explained a lot. Also both temples are very recommendable for a visit. Would do it again. We made the 4 p.m. tour and arrived at Doi Suthep at sunset

Great experience discovering an other side of Chiang Mai
The tour was amazing we were lucky and was just the 2 of us at the tour. The views from the top were incredible and the explanations were very interesting.

Easily worth the price
This tour is definitely worth the price. I booked it last minute and I have no regrets. Even the ride to and from the temples was super fun in the red taxi!
The hiking is very easy if you’re in shape, and the temple at the end of the hike is beautiful in the jungle. Of course, the golden temple is also beautiful! Especially at night.
Saman was a great guide, super friendly with a good sense of humour. He taught us a lot about Buddhism, and since he used to be a monk himself it was cool to hear his perspective.

Tough walk but I did it and I’m 74
This glitzy temple is up a hill to the west of Chaing Mai. Take a taxi to the trail foot at (w3w) prickly.love.mulled and walk the trail upwards. Steep in places. After 45 mins, the first temple then cross the main road and hike upwards to violin.sector.scouted
Lots of gold and buddhas and tourist nick nack shops. You can get a cheap meal here. Take water for the hike and tough shoes. Also an app like ‘pocket earth’ is useful. We took a red taxi back to town. Cost us 60bhat each.
