Krabi – Emerald Pool & Hot Springs, Tiger Cave Temple Tour
Krabi
+3
During this tour you'll visit the Emerald Pool and Blue Lagoon, the Hot Springs and the Tiger Cave Temple.
The Emerald Pool, also called ‘Sa Morakot’ is a unique natural pond with a visually limpid blue color and wonderfully warm waters, making it a stunning spot for swimming.
Nearby the Emerald Pool you'll find the Blue Lagoon, a beautiful pool with deep aquamarine-blue water. Don’t be tempted to take a dip in the blue water, because unlike in the Emerald Pool you can’t swim here!
Namtok Ron is located in a shady green forest area with numerous hot springs. The hot springs and cool streams converge on a slope to form lovely cascades of warm water. The water comes from volcanic chambers deep underground. Of course you’ll have time to relax in one of the many natural hollows in the creek.
Set in a beautiful forest, Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) is one of the highlights in Krabi, for in addition to being a place of worship it is a famous meditation centre, and acts as a retreat for Buddhist monks and nuns.
You need to climb 1260 stairs to the top, so a degree of physical fitness is required. Once you make it to the top, you are rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding countryside with all the limestone cliffs and beautiful lush rain forest. If you think the climb to the top might be too tough for you, you can also visit the temple on ground level.
Please note the entrance fees are not included and are as follows:
- Emerald Pool The National Park fee : 400 THB per person
-Hot Springs : 200 THB per person

Great experience
I booked a group tour, but unexpectedly got a private tour. My tour guide Otto was great, knowing a lot about the nature etc! Definitely can recommend this tour.

Great day out!
We had an amazing day with Otto as our guide! It was just the two of us on the tour but Otto made us feel comfortable the whole time, he was very knowledgeable and thanks to him we saw squirrels, spiders and a snake. The emerald pool is a beautiful place to swim. A tip for the waterfall is to bring beach shoes as the rocks are very difficult to walk on. Tiger cave was fantastic albeit exhausting so don’t forget your water. Overall a fantastic day out and lunch was incredible too! Thank you Otto!

Must do while in Krabi. Worth every penny.
Beautiful experience from beginning to end. Otto was very kind, generous and knowledgable as a guide. I didn’t have quite enough cash for the entrance fees and he fronted it for me until I got to an ATM. Which are none along the trip.
The emerald pool and hot springs were a life changing and enriching experience!
A MUST DO while in Krabi!

A must do. Bring swimming gear and towel/cash.
From beginning to end it was a wonderful experience. I would never have seen any of these things or had half the knowledge that Otto did. The emerald and hot springs are the star of the show. Not sure that the temple fits in with the rest of the itinerary. Would rethink it.
Otto, being a class act covered for my entrance fees as I didn’t bring quite enough cash. They were 1200 Bhat for two adults. He was good enough to front it and wait for me to get the rest from an ATM back in town. There are NO ATMS anywhere along the route. It’s cash or scan, no credit or debit.
The restaurant was a disappointment. We chose the buffet at the behest of the reso host. It was the wrong choice. The masaman curry, with a version of I had yesterday was SO SALTY. Beyond words. I dutifully mixed it with my white rice and went back just tried the chicken. It was also over salted. Can’t both be in error.
The host was gracious and kept insisting that we go back for more, that there was watermelon, which was great. The white rice was very good thai rice and perfect. It saved the day.
Forget the food, you go for the experience. And this one was one of those potentially life changing ones.
The emerald pool is so mesmerizing in it’s beauty, ability to heal, renew and give you an especially beautiful idea of what the world can be like.
the steps down are very slippery. They are covered in moss. There is.a hope but it’s not well placed to be useful. Advice to go down sitting and not attempt to walk it back or forward as risk of slip is almost assured.
The hot spring and pools were something out of a movie, the water was so hot it took getting used to. I stayed in the front, right as it enters the pool. That’s as hot as it got. I didn’t go all the to the bottom.
The water at every point before that was pristine it was breathtaking. I live in BC Canada and there are streams that look as good as that high in the mountains, in the forest. It’s just as clean if not cleaner. It’s so beautiful. I can’t decide what is more beautiful than the other.
Otto never, at any point in time talk too much or become a bother. He was always humble and helpful.
He never asked for a tip at the end. Was the first time in all of Thailand that it was not mentioned. I hope others thought to tip him.
He did take a ton of photo and videos of us, and even made a movie about us. But it includes everyones pictures together. So a bit awkward to see other couples close up and then them seeing mine.
Better to send separate and only if they are interested and then, you send individual pictures.

The greatest gide Ottoman
At first we met with Otto on Nopparat Thara Pier, then we draw to National Park to see Emerald pool and swim there. On the way there we spoke a lot with our tour gide, he is verry kind, communictive and smarth. Very frenndly whith everyone that we met. He offered to take pictures and video with us, and later made a video roll. That was nice. He also tooke care off our stuff, when we swam. Second stop was at Hot Springs. Surprise was the temperatur of hot and cold water. And the last one and the most impressive was the mountin with Tiger temple. It was hard to claim those stairs, but it was worth it.
Thank you for great experience!
