Chiang Mai Temples and Market Tuk-Tuk Evening Tour
Chiang Mai

Join our “Tuk-tuk Tour Chiang Mai by Night” and discover the magic of the 'Rose of the North' after sunset, when the city slows down and the temperature becomes pleasantly cool. As the sun sets, Chiang Mai’s ancient temples light up beautifully and the bustling night market comes to life with delicious aromas and vibrant energy.
Your local guide will share fascinating stories about the city and the landmarks you pass along the way.
Our adventure begins at 18:30 hrs in front of Burger King at the Thapae Gate, where the tuk-tuks will be ready and waiting. Let’s hit the road!
We start at Wat Phra Singh, one of Chiang Mai’s most iconic and revered temples. Dating back to the 14th century, this temple is a prime example of traditional Lanna architecture and a symbol of the city’s rich heritage.
Next, we visit Wat Phan Tao, known for its stunning teakwood ordination hall. This peaceful temple, one of the oldest in the city, offers a serene atmosphere and a glimpse into classic Lanna craftsmanship.
We then make a stop at the impressive ruins of Wat Chedi Luang, once the tallest structure in Chiang Mai. Though partially collapsed after a 16th-century earthquake, the chedi remains awe-inspiring. This site once housed the sacred Emerald Buddha, now kept in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew.
Outside the old city walls, we visit Wat Lok Molee, another historic temple with a beautiful brick chedi that holds the ashes of several kings from the Mengrai dynasty, rulers of the Lanna Kingdom.
To wrap up the evening, we head to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, the city’s most famous market and a true feast for the senses. Browse stalls filled with handicrafts, clothing, and souvenirs, and enjoy a casual meal and local dessert surrounded by the buzz of night-time market life.
After dinner, we say goodbye to the guide. You’re free to return to your hotel by tuk-tuk (not included) or continue exploring the Night Bazaar at your own pace.

Delightful event tour
A great evening tour. The temples take on a whole different life under the lights at night. And the night market is a treat for dinner. Tik is a great guide. He is knowledgeable and engaging and entertaining all the things a great guide should be. And the tuk tuk makes it an easy trip around the city.

Tour Guide Amy made the day!
Our tour was led by Amy, who was the perfect person for the job. We had such an excellent time exploring and learning about the history. She gave us background and fun facts about every aspect of the places we visited. We would definitely recommend this tour for those wanting to experience a tuk tuk & learn more about the beautiful country of Thailand!

OK, but wouldn’t do again
The Tuk tuk rides were fun, but the description at the temples was only average. Difficult to understand guide. Would say this tour was OK, but not great.

Tik and tuk tuks are the best!
Our tour guide was Tik and he was so informative and the best guide we had in Chiang Mai. He explained a lot about Buddhism believes and pointed out interesting facts about the symbolism of each piece, place, and the culture. People who were not on the tour at each location were drawn to our group because Tik was so inspirational.
We were skeptical of the tuk tuk but ultimately had a great time.
Tik was very nice and bought us water and the foods at the night market where we ended the tour. Overall, if you get a chance to take a tour with Tik, go for it! You won’t regret it.

Tuk Tuks, Temples, and Delicious Food!
This tour was a great experience all around. It was amazing to learn about the history of the temples as we walked through them. They are beautiful in the evening when lit up. The street food market afterwards was fantastic. So many delicious local options. The tuk tuk ride to each stop was also a fun bonus! Highly recommend.
