Grand Palace & Temples of Bangkok
Bangkok
During this half day tour you will visit the Grand Palace and the most well-known and important Buddhist temples in the Thai capital. One of our knowledgeable guides will tell you everything about these famous sights, the history and Buddhism in general.
Located at the heart of Bangkok, the Grand Palace was the former residence for King Rama I to King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Kingdom. Today, the place is used for hosting royal ceremonies and welcoming the king's guests, state guests, and other foreign dignitaries.
Wat Phra Kaew (known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha or locally as Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram) is located within the grounds of the Grand Palace. The temple enshrines Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha), the highly revered Buddha image meticulously carved from a single block of jade.
Wat Pho is mainly famous for the huge Reclining Buddha statue it houses. At 20 acres large, it is the largest temple in Bangkok, and technically the oldest too, as it was built around 200 years before Bangkok became Thailand's capital.
The highly impressive reclining Buddha is 46 meters long and 15 meters high, and illustrates the passing of the Buddha into nirvana. The large grounds of Wat Pho contain more than 1000 Buddha images in total, most from the ruins of the former capitals Ayutthaya and Sukhothai.
From a nearby pier, we'll take a ferry to the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya river. Here you'll find one of the most outstanding temples of Thailand, named after the Indian god of Dawn Aruna: Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). The imposing prang (spire) of Wat Arun is one of Bangkok's world-famous landmarks. It is over 70 meters high and represents Mount Meru, home of the gods. The corners are surrounded by four smaller satellite prangs. The prangs are beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of coloured glass and Chinese porcelain which had previously been used as ballast by boats coming to Bangkok from China.
A visit to Bangkok is not complete without visiting these famous landmarks!

Knowledgeable and helpful tour guide
Tony our guide did a fabulous job. He was knowledgeable and very helpful. My Aunt found the August mid day heat a bit too much to handle. He took the extra effort to slow the pace of the tour as well as help get her a taxi to get back to the hotel and then carry on with the rest of the tour. Would surely recommend them to friends and family visiting Bangkok.

Loved it!
We loved this tour with Nikki! She was so knowledgeable, funny and interesting. If we were there longer we would have booked more tours with her! Her pacing and English was really good, and she even took great photos for us. Any time I had a question, it was like she read my mind and actually went ahead and answered without me saying anything. I felt like I saw everything, and learned interesting things about Thai culture that I wouldn’t have otherwise. This was much better than going alone and having to research.

Amazing morning tour as a solo traveler with Tack
I had a wonderful tour with Tack as a solo traveler. Our group ended up being four people and the small group was great since there were other people to talk to, but still an intimate feeling. The tour was an amazing way to stop at all the major historic places within half of the day, and I felt extremely well informed and accomplished by the end of the tour. Upon my initial request, Tack took incredible pictures for me throughout the tour, and I’m in love with how they turned out! Tack was extremely friendly and accommodating to the other tourists in my group, and we had a great time despite it drizzling during the middle of it. There was actually a lot more “free” time than I expected where we would be let loose to explore. I do think I would have enjoyed even more storytelling/information (as someone who loves learning), but I still learned enough to satiate my hunger and was satisfied by what was offered! Highly recommend.
