Khao Yai is the perfect destinations for nature lovers with its rich flora and fauna. The dense forest of Khao Yai National Park has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005.
There are many animals inhabiting the national park including elephants, tigers, monkeys, bears, deer and squirrels. There are also various types of snakes like pythons, spiders, rodents and insects, so it is best advised to wear long sleeved clothing. In addition, the park has more than 400 species of birds.
We take one of the trekking trails in the park for a hike through the nature while enjoying the beautiful mountainous landscape. During this jungle hike you learn more about the flora and fauna of this beautiful wilderness. Even if you're not lucky with wildlife encounters, the massive strangler fig trees make it all worthwhile.
There are several waterfalls throughout the national park offering incredible scenery and photo opportunities. The most well-known waterfall in Khao Yai National Park is Haew Suwat. It is famous for being the location for Leonardo DiCaprio's waterfall dive in the movie ‘The Beach’ back in 2000.
Haew Narok is the highest falls in Khao Yai National Park, and the park’s star attraction, cascading over three tiers with the final level gushing 80 metres below into a deep pool. However, only the first level is open to the public, as the other levels are steep and dangerous. There’s a hillside viewpoint where you can clearly watch and take photos of the waterfall. Especially at the height of the rainy season, the Haew Narok Waterfall is a truly breathtaking sight.
Khao Yai National Park is one of the best places in Thailand to see Asian elephants in the wild and many visitors come to catch a glimpse of the park's wild elephant population, grazing in their natural habitat. Keep in mind, however, that it cannot be guaranteed that you will see wild elephants in the park during your day trip.

お勧めできるツアーです。Highly recomended tour
We were so lucky to encounter a wild male elephant, which is a truly rare event. The elephant was just 20 meters away.
The trail leading to the waterfall was equally remarkable, offering breathtaking views of the jungle.
The guild was nice and friendly.
Overall the tour was very nice, and I definitely recommend it.

Surpassed our expectation!!
We had an amazing time experiencing nature just three hours away from Bangkok with the guidance of Paul and Frank. We were fortunate to see groups of wild elephants twice, which surpassed our expectations. Besides elephants, we also encountered large lizards and many fluttering butterflies. Both my child and I joined the tour and were thrilled. We’d love to participate again. Thank you so much!

Put your money in the right place
I had an amazing day in Khao Yai with Surina. We went on a long trek in the jungle and saw some cool lizards and deer.
We were tracking elephants that we could smell and hear but sadly didn’t end up seeing. However I am happier to have done this tour than any of the numerous ones that exploit elephants.
What you do with your money when you travel matters. If you care about being a responsible traveller and the ethics of elephants this tour is perfect. Are you guaranteed to see elephants? No. But are you contributing to their pain? Definitely not! And that is what matters the most.

Great experience!!
Suri was an amazing host!! And the tour is beautiful! However, the park is a really long drive. The ratio of being in the car and being in the park was a bit off.

A day I will remember
A great experience, and a fantastic change of scenery from Bangkok for a day, despite the long drive – our tour guide Surina was clearly very passionate about the wildlife and nature in Khao Yai. We were lucky and saw a wild elephant (hearing others eating and calling in the background), which was humbling, and I liked how much respect and care for the elephants Surina showed. A very special memory!
