Bangkok canal tour by long-tail boat (2 hours)
Bangkok

Hop on a typical Thai long-tail boat and explore the canals of Thonburi, once the capital of Thailand.
During our 2-hour canal adventure you will explore life on and around the klongs (canals) and get a glimpse of how the local people live. Elderly people sitting on the chairs on the wooden docks of their tiny homes overlooking the canal, women hanging laundry to dry, and children jumping into the water and swimming in the canal, amazing!
We will make a stop at Baan Silapin (The Artist's House), a traditional Thai house that has been converted into a public space to preserve art and traditional performance styles such as puppetry. The wooden house, over 200 years old and lovingly restored by its owner, sits at the heart of a small community of rustic shophouses which are connected by a wooden walkway that follows the edge of the klong (canal).
Furthermore, we pass Wat Paknam Phasi Charoen, built in the mid-Ayutthaya period in the Phasi Charoen District in Thonburi. The boat driver will stop the boat so that you can take a good photo of the huge Buddha statue at this temple. The Buddha statue is towering nearly 70 meters above the ground, the height of a 20-story building, and it is Bangkok's biggest Buddha image, with a width of 40 meters in its cross-legged meditation posture.
The bus stop opposite Elefin Coffee on Maha Rat Road, just south of Wat Pho

Amazing to see life along the huge canal system in Bangkok.
Our guide was excellent and went overboard to make our tour interesting, educational and was willing to deviate from the original itinerary to add interest.

Awesome boat ride with fully engaged
The 2-hour boat ride included visits to two different stops: one at a temple featuring a massive Buddha statue and the other at Artist’s house. The overall experience was delightful, thanks to the presence of a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Here’s a brief overview of the locations with some historical context:
1. Temple with Huge Buddha: The first stop on the boat ride was at a temple housing a magnificent Buddha statue. This serene location provided a glimpse into the local spiritual practices and beliefs. The Buddha statue, towering in its grandeur, served as a focal point for reflection and admiration. The temple’s tranquil ambiance offered visitors a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
2. Artist’s House: The second stop took us to the charming abode of a local artist. Stepping into this creative sanctuary was akin to entering a world of artistic wonder. The house was adorned with captivating artworks, each telling a unique story. Exploring the artist’s house allowed us to appreciate the beauty of self-expression and creativity. Engaging with the artist and witnessing the creative process firsthand added a layer of depth to the overall experience.
Throughout the boat ride, our tour guide provided insightful commentary, offering historical and cultural context to enrich our understanding of the locations we visited. Their passion for the local heritage was evident in the way they shared anecdotes and information, making the journey not only enjoyable but also educational.
In conclusion, the 2-hour boat ride with stops at the temple with the huge Buddha and Artist’s house was a truly enriching experience. The combination of spiritual contemplation, artistic inspiration, and informative guidance from our tour guide made it a memorable outing. Whether you seek tranquility, cultural insights, or creative inspiration, this boat ride offers a well-rounded experience that caters to varied interests.

Great fun but definitely not for everyone.
I had fun, saw some great temple sights and went to a really great floating market; but its not good for all ages, only 18-55 able bodied and confident swimmers as access on / off is poor (old school), waters were pretty choppy at the start.
My gf can’t swim so was pretty scared in our little boat at the start, almost too scared to get on, so we didn’t get back on at the market haha
Either way quite an adventurous little trip, especially when the driver went full pelt.
As long as you know the above you’ll have fun.
