Departures available daily at 7:00 AM or 10:15 AM
Step into the excitement of the Maeklong Railway Market, where stalls are whisked away just moments before the train speeds through. Then hop on a traditional long-tail boat at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, weaving along bustling canals and catching glimpses of riverside life. The journey also takes you to Wat Bang Kung, a remarkable temple known for its ancient tree-covered chapel.
Experience some of Thailand’s most unique and colorful markets on this tour, beginning with the Maeklong Railway Market. Known locally as the ‘umbrella pulldown market,’ this extraordinary market stretches along an active railway line. Established in the early 1900s, it has grown up around the tracks, selling fresh produce, seafood, and local goods. Several times a day, the distant sound of a train sends vendors into action, folding back awnings and pulling their wares away from the rails, only to set them back in place moments after the train passes. Witnessing this precise, practiced scramble is a fascinating glimpse into local life and a truly unforgettable sight.
Next, we travel to the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Dug in the 19th century during the reign of King Rama IV to improve trade and transport, the network of narrow canals is now filled with boats carrying fresh fruits, local snacks, and handcrafted goods. The riverbanks bustle with colorful stalls, creating a lively atmosphere where you can enjoy the sights, sounds, and flavors of a traditional floating market. While it has become a popular tourist attraction, it remains one of the best places to experience this unique way of trading.
Finally, we visit Wat Bang Kung, one of Amphawa District’s most iconic temples. This remarkable site is almost completely enveloped by the roots and branches of a giant banyan tree, which have grown over the centuries to lock the building in a natural embrace. Inside, you’ll find a golden Buddha, a serene reminder of the temple’s spiritual significance and enduring charm.
(Visitors must be properly dressed when visiting temple. Shoulders need to be covered.)

Great fun and informative tour!
We just returned from this tour and had a great time. Our guide was Kitty and she was really nice, made the tour fun with all the introductions at the start, and always made time to take our photos for us. It was a small group of 10 people, the bus was clean, driver drove well and plenty of air conditioning. First stop was the floating market, where we split into 2 groups on boats and went through the floating markets for roughly 1 hour stopping when requested to buy souvenirs, food etc. Afterwards we had around 45 minutes ‘free time’ to go eat lunch, buy gifts etc. The floating market is a great and unique experience especially in the traffic jam! After this we went to a temple about 15 minutes away, Kitty took us around and told us lots of interesting facts and let us go inside temple (just remember to cover shoulders and below knees) this stop is for about 30 minutes with a toilet break, before moving onto Maeklong Railway station. Here we walked to the end of the track to see the train and have some photos and then walked the 1 km down the track having time to stop for shops, drinks, food whilst waiting for the train to arrive. It does get busy with lots of people but it’s amazing when they sound the horn you have 3 minutes to move inside shop entrance before train passes, all the shops move their canopies in, tables and produce gets moved and then everyone waits for the train to pass. It was amazing, it goes really slow so plenty of time for photo/video opportunities but just be warned it does get very close to you so stay right back against wall, inside shop entrance. Afterwards, we met at the meeting point, grabbed a smoothie and headed back to the minibus. Kitty was very generous and bought everyone a bag of fresh fruit (also a bottle of water provided on bus). We enjoyed this tour and really recommend it!

Great tour
Love the floating market experience and the Maeklong Train Market. Got to eat local food and the guide, Kitty, even gave us some water apple at the end of the tour.

Coooool valuable experience
Awesome experience!! The guide, Sirii, she’s so nice and good communicator, and definitely it’s a signature experience to have in Thai. But when you’re planning to ride the boat in the floating market, BE PREPARED WITH YOUR MASK, otherwise you’ll inhale every exhaust from the boats for 20 min.

Fantastic Floating Market
Pick up from the hotel was seamless in an Air Cond van. Kitty was an awesome host, explained everything and looked after us well. The time spent at each location was just enough to get a feel for it. Great day out.
