Join our “Tuk-tuk Tour Chiang Mai by Night” and discover the magic of the 'Rose of the North' after sunset, when the city slows down and the temperature becomes pleasantly cool. As the sun sets, Chiang Mai’s ancient temples light up beautifully and the bustling night market comes to life with delicious aromas and vibrant energy.
Your local guide will share fascinating stories about the city and the landmarks you pass along the way.
Our adventure begins at 18:30 hrs in front of Burger King at the Thapae Gate, where the tuk-tuks will be ready and waiting. Let’s hit the road!
We start at Wat Phra Singh, one of Chiang Mai’s most iconic and revered temples. Dating back to the 14th century, this temple is a prime example of traditional Lanna architecture and a symbol of the city’s rich heritage.
Next, we visit Wat Phan Tao, known for its stunning teakwood ordination hall. This peaceful temple, one of the oldest in the city, offers a serene atmosphere and a glimpse into classic Lanna craftsmanship.
We then make a stop at the impressive ruins of Wat Chedi Luang, once the tallest structure in Chiang Mai. Though partially collapsed after a 16th-century earthquake, the chedi remains awe-inspiring. This site once housed the sacred Emerald Buddha, now kept in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew.
Outside the old city walls, we visit Wat Lok Molee, another historic temple with a beautiful brick chedi that holds the ashes of several kings from the Mengrai dynasty, rulers of the Lanna Kingdom.
To wrap up the evening, we head to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, the city’s most famous market and a true feast for the senses. Browse stalls filled with handicrafts, clothing, and souvenirs, and enjoy a casual meal and local dessert surrounded by the buzz of night-time market life.
After dinner, we say goodbye to the guide. You’re free to return to your hotel by tuk-tuk (not included) or continue exploring the Night Bazaar at your own pace.

A great guide makes all the difference!
The guide (Tik) was so amazing. He was well informed on the history of the Temples but shared so much more about the Buddhist practices, how they entertained with Hindu:s in the region. He was fun and funny. Seeing the temples at night was very special. Highly recommend this tour.

Can’t go wrong with this one. Solid tour
Really solid tour. Riding the tuk tuk was fun and a must have experience. The stories and history told by Saman was very interesting despite when at parts it was hard to understand him. Locations were great but a day tour would allow us to go into more buildings as some close at higher. Overall we had a great time and a fantastic meal at the end.

Knowledgeable, thoughtful tour
We had a wonderful tour with Tik. He was very thoughtful and well-spoken and brought the temples we visited to life. He is well educated about Buddhism and its history, including variances in cultural expression, understands its symbolism, and can explain it in a way that is relatable to people not of that background. He guided us to some excellent spots for photos and also to some great places to eat and shop afterwards. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable tour, much appreciated by us.
