Chiang Mai Temples and Market Tuk-Tuk Evening Tour
Chiang Mai

Join our “Tuk-tuk Tour Chiang Mai by Night” and discover the magic of the 'Rose of the North' after sunset, when the city slows down and the temperature becomes pleasantly cool. As the sun sets, Chiang Mai’s ancient temples light up beautifully and the bustling night market comes to life with delicious aromas and vibrant energy.
Your local guide will share fascinating stories about the city and the landmarks you pass along the way.
Our adventure begins at 18:30 hrs in front of Burger King at the Thapae Gate, where the tuk-tuks will be ready and waiting. Let’s hit the road!
We start at Wat Phra Singh, one of Chiang Mai’s most iconic and revered temples. Dating back to the 14th century, this temple is a prime example of traditional Lanna architecture and a symbol of the city’s rich heritage.
Next, we visit Wat Phan Tao, known for its stunning teakwood ordination hall. This peaceful temple, one of the oldest in the city, offers a serene atmosphere and a glimpse into classic Lanna craftsmanship.
We then make a stop at the impressive ruins of Wat Chedi Luang, once the tallest structure in Chiang Mai. Though partially collapsed after a 16th-century earthquake, the chedi remains awe-inspiring. This site once housed the sacred Emerald Buddha, now kept in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew.
Outside the old city walls, we visit Wat Lok Molee, another historic temple with a beautiful brick chedi that holds the ashes of several kings from the Mengrai dynasty, rulers of the Lanna Kingdom.
To wrap up the evening, we head to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, the city’s most famous market and a true feast for the senses. Browse stalls filled with handicrafts, clothing, and souvenirs, and enjoy a casual meal and local dessert surrounded by the buzz of night-time market life.
After dinner, we say goodbye to the guide. You’re free to return to your hotel by tuk-tuk (not included) or continue exploring the Night Bazaar at your own pace.

Great tour
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Was surprised that I was the only one who turned up to the tour, I guess because it was the rainy season. However, Mr Saman went above and beyond to make sure I was well looked after. He gave me a lot of different insights that I don’t think I would have received if I was on a group experience. It was my birthday and they sang happy birthday to me which was very sweet. We went to a few different temples and Mr Saman made sure that my dietary requirements were handled. He also took a lot of pictures for me. Will encourage anyone to go and on this tour.

Tuk tuk tour with Saman
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Saman Duangkham. We are here in Thailand on holiday from NZ and what a great way this is to immerse yourself in what chiang Mai has to offer. The temples were lit up beautifully at night and the crowds from the day had dispersed. Saman was very knowledgeable answering all of our questions and was very enthusiastic about chiang Mai, he made this tour amazing. We loved this tour which ended at the Kazan market with some yummy food.

The Guide was really good, he explained everything about the locations we went. It was rainy but I still enjoyed the trip.

Wonderful!
Great experience and great guide! We were able to see the temples illuminated at night, and our guide Siam explained their stories to us and then made us discover the culinary specialties of Chiang Mai, it was excellent! Thank you very much 🙏🏼

Solo travels
Honestly, I booked this tour not expecting much. for such a low price, how much can you really see? Boy was I wrong. It is an action packed 3-4 hour tour of all the local temples I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember all the names of the temples but they were all beautiful.
My guide, Saman, was great. His voice was a little course but he still powered through and provided all the information.
My suggestion is that a pamphlet of some sort be given to the customer so that they have something to follow along.
My only grip is at the end of the tour, I was left alone at the food court of the night bazaar. I understand that the tour guide needs to go home too but being a solo traveler, I felt abandoned.
I do recommend the tour because you get to see it all, with a personal tuk-tuk and a personal guide. It would be difficult to get that alone.
